Position Description:

CPA Ontario is currently in search of a Professional Development Officer who will be responsible for the overall deployment of all Professional Development programs offered by CPA Ontario, managing inter-provincial content development, conducting data analytics and month-end financial reporting and analysis.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manage a PD Manager and an Event Logistics team
  • Manage Professional Learning and Development Provincial Committee (“PLDPC”) content development processes, including proposals and content reviews
  • Manage relationships and workflow plans with PLDPC course authors, content advisors and technical reviewers
  • Perform reviews of PLDPC course content for consistency with proposals
  • Manage, develop and analyze Key Performance Indicators for PD Team to provide predictive analytics that will aid in decision making
  • Month-end financial reporting and analysis processes, including accruals

Qualification Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the CPA designation with a minimum of 5 years work experience is required
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, assurance and financial reporting principles including ASPE and IFRS required
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required
  • Proven ability working with and adapt to new technologies is required
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills required along with the ability to multi-task and prioritize conflicting demands
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), relationship building, negotiation and customer service skills required
  • Strong attention to accuracy & detail and quality control is required
  • Prior involvement or experience in course development and delivery is preferred
